Amanda Dukhie, MS, MFT
Amanda Dukhie graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her pursuit of knowledge has also gained her a Masters of Science in Mediation Studies and an Undergraduate Bachelors in Literatures in English and Human Communication Studies from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago. Amanda’s dedication to service began over a decade ago with her working as an educator in Health Communications. She brings with her a myriad of experiences and knowledge which she has garnered and as a therapist helps those most in need.
Amanda is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and has gained experience in the field of mental health, working with diverse populations and age groups over the past three years. She has provided individual and group therapy for families, individuals and couples. Through a systemic framework, she guides her clients through their issues in creative and dynamic ways, helping them to find positive solutions to their problems. She uses different forms of evidence-based models such as, solution focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation and play therapy in her therapeutic sessions. As a systemic therapist, Amanda has provided assistance to her clients who experience trauma from bullying, relational conflict, isolation, substance abuse, self-esteem, anger and family conflict. She understands that each client and family is unique, and their problems require focused and individualized care.
Amanda is most passionate about providing therapeutic interventions to children and their families. Her therapy exemplifies the belief that children are the future of tomorrow, and through therapy, we have the chance to motivate a child to realize their potential and help them to attain the goals they set for themselves. Amanda continues to strive to empower, guide and serve the community she cares for.
